ROTKO board supplementary application

Student Union ROTKO is opening a supplementary application round for two Board Members for the remainder of the 2026 term. The application period ends on Wednesday, 30 September 2026 at 12:00 noon.

Interested in giving board activities a try? Now is a great opportunity, as we are looking for two new Board Members for the remainder of the 2026 term!

As a Board Member, you will get involved in ROTKO’s activities and have the opportunity to find ways to contribute that match your interests. Your responsibilities may include, for example, community development (tutoring), planning and organising events, and other Student Union activities.

No previous board experience is required. What matters most is your interest in getting involved, trying something new, and bringing your own ideas and perspectives to the team.

Joining for the remainder of the term is also a great, low-threshold opportunity to find out what being a Board Member is like – while meeting new people and getting to know ROTKO’s activities from a whole new perspective.

SELECTION

The new Board Members will be selected at a ROTKO Board meeting on Wednesday, 30 September. All applicants are welcome to attend the meeting, and everyone will have the opportunity to explain why they should be selected.

The meeting will be held in a hybrid format at ROTKO’s Rovaniemi office and via Microsoft Teams. A link to join the meeting online will be sent to all applicants after the application period has ended.

Role of the ROTKO Board

The Student Union Board is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Student Union. The Board implements decisions made by the Representatives and works to promote students’ interests.

Board Members’ responsibilities cover various areas, and the Board decides together how these responsibilities are divided, taking the Student Union’s action plan into account.

In previous years, these areas have included:

  • Community Development (tutoring)

  • Events

  • Club Activities

  • Social Policy

  • Well-being and Sports

  • FSHS

In addition, the Board represents the Student Union at national events and seminars. The Board follows developments in higher education both within Lapland University of Applied Sciences and nationally, and communicates, reports and takes positions on issues affecting students.

Board Members must be full members of the Student Union. Before submitting your application, please make sure that you have a valid ROTKO student card.

You can find the current Board Members HERE. Their email addresses follow the format firstname.lastname[at]lapinrotko.fi.
