First year students checkpoint race

KUKSAJAISET, or the orienteering competition for the students of Lapland UAS, is held respecting traditions in the beautiful surroundings of Kemijoki! Freshmen from every field from Kemi, Tornio and Rovaniemi get to measure each other, competing for the Trophy. Competitors' skills, knowledge and team spirit are evaluated on the tasks. Participating in the competition is free, you can read more about participating in after parties on the bottom of this page.

This year's theme is "cartoons". The day's event teams are formed from the study fields and it is aimed for first year students. (Note other students, look below for the evening race for continuing students) More detailed instructions and schedules are distributed to student tutors who share information with first-year students so ask your tutors for more. Dressing according to the theme is an essential part of the event and there is plenty of choice, because "cartoons" as a theme gives a huge number of different options for dressing. So get your group together and be creative!
